Juan Dela Cruz, RN, RM

According to the law, a Registered Nurse can try and take on the Midwifery exam by just gathering a couple of cases and registering at the PRC.
So if you're an RN, wishing to be an RM too -- here are a few things I managed to research about the said exam.

NOTE: This post is continuously being updated. :) Check it out every now and then!

CASES

You can inquire to any hospital (not clinics) regarding this. They'll schedule you up for completion and then you'd be good to go! The most famous hospital that caters for this kind of case hunting is the Fabella Memorial Hospital, since they have numerous births per day, but any hospital of choice would suffice.

SCHEDULES

So according the PRC site itself, the exam takes place twice a year -- one in April and one in November. Deadline in filing for the exam takes place one month before. The fee costs 600 bucks and you'll simply need the a. Cases; b. your PRC license; c. the money.

Upon passing the cases to the PRC, some say they'll interview you regarding the cases (which, by the way, is the same thing they said regarding our nursing cases... which didn't happen by the way). Other than that, the only thing they'll have you prepared on is the exam itself! :)

I mean, WHY NOT?

I believe it is vital for each person never to stop aspiring for a better future, for a better self. If you feel hesitant about this, please know that there is practically nothing to lose, except the 600 peso exam fee. :) But, that's just a nursing student's 2-day allowance right?
